Each of these sweet souls has a journey they’ve been through to come to us and we are so happy to care for them.  Please take the time to meet our newest residents, read their stories, and consider helping our cause.

OUR NEW RESIDENTS

Daisy

Daisy was the first rescue we committed to bringing to our farm from the TN Kill Pen.  Daisy was a little girl's trail horse that went blind.  Unable to be a trail horse any longer, the little girl's grandfather brought Daisy to auction at the TN farm.   We knew Daisy deserved better than to be cycled through the auction circuit,  We posted bail and committed to bringing her home.

Winston

Winston was the second horse from the same TN kill pen that we committed to bringing home.  He only had one eye, had been to various auctions. He was recently moved to the shipping pen.  If no one stepped up, he'd be on the next trailer to the border.  His outcome would not be good.  We got help with his bail and committed to bringing him home.

Grace

Grace

Grace was the third and last TN kill pen horse we committed to bringing home on this run.  She is an appaloosa with moon blindness.  She would not do well through the auction circuit.  The foundation that helped us post bail for Winston also worked a miracle and helped us with Grace's bail.

More new rescues

Maggie

Maggie was on the same trailer that came from TN.  Although we did not commit to rescuing her, no one showed up to pick her up.  We made room in the quarantine pen and welcomed Maggie home.  SHe's a thoroughbred with vision in only one eye.  I loved her spiciness from day one.

Abe

We received a phone call from a concerned citizen late December 2023 about an injured duck.  We brought Abe home and nursed him back to health.  He was pretty beat up.  He adjusted to our farm and is part of our muscovy flock doing muscovy things.  Abe will stay at our farm for the rest of his life.

Snow White and Lacy

Snow White and Lacy

Snow White and Lacy

These mares were surrendered with four other neglected horses in Jefferson County.  They were malnourished, in desperate need of a Ferrier, and super scared.  With time, healthy nutrition, vet care and patience, they are growing to trust us more and more everyday.

Bo and Snow

Bo and Snow

Snow White and Lacy

Bo and Snow came from Quincy after Snow was attacked by an alligator.  We nursed her back to health, and they are now what we consider our guard geese.  Every arrival (human or animal) need to pass their inspection.

Cranberry

Bo and Snow

Cranberry

Cranberry was a victim of a hit and run.  Lucky for her, a couple of caring humans found her and decided to help.  We received a call from Bainbridge, GA, and without hesitation, went to pick her up and get her to a vet.  She had surgery and is on the road to recovery.  Cranberry will be a wonderful addition to the varied feathered friends a the rescue.
